Synopsis
A young boy and a girl with a magic crystal must race against pirates and foreign agents in a search for a legendary floating castle.
Plot
In a world filled with flying machines and airships, a young girl named Sheeta is being held captive by government agents led by Muska when their airship is attacked by air pirates led by the maternal Dola. During the chaos, Sheeta falls from the airship but is saved from a deadly fall by the power of a blue crystal pendant she wears. She floats gently down to a small mining town where she is discovered by a boy named Pazu, who takes her home. Pazu reveals that his father was an aviator who once photographed the legendary floating city of Laputa, though no one believed him. Sheeta and Pazu soon find themselves pursued by both the pirates and the government agents, who seek the crystal's power and the secrets of Laputa. As they flee, they discover that Sheeta is the descendant of the Laputan royal family and that her crystal is the key to finding and controlling the ancient city. Together, they must reach Laputa before their pursuers and protect its power from those who would misuse it.
